Newtack

We run our own company on the software we build.

We build the data foundations AI depends on, then run the business functions that sit on them.

01What we do

The work runs in three stages. An engagement can begin and end at the first one, and the stages above it become available once the one below has been delivered. Some of what we install comes from a catalog we already run. The rest we build for you.

Data foundations

Engagement

We centralize, govern, and validate your data, both structured and unstructured, so that it can be trusted and used. Centralizing means one index that knows what exists, what it means, whether it can be relied on, and how to reach it. The data itself can stay where it lives, which takes the migration project off the table. This is the groundwork every serious AI effort depends on, and it carries value on its own.

Agents that run business functions

Subscription

On that foundation we deploy agents and automation that perform whole business functions. You buy the function performed, priced monthly. Each one is a configurable product, so onboarding is configuration work and an improvement reaches every client at once.

Software built and taken to market together

Partnership

When the operating software a company runs on is worth commercializing, we design and build it with them and then partner on taking it to market: product, marketing, and SaaS operations. The economics move from fees toward a mix of cash, equity, and revenue share. The terms that decide whether this works, exclusivity, roadmap control, and ownership, are settled in writing before the first line of code.

02Why the stages compound

Each stage deepens the relationship, raises the value of the contract, and improves the economics on both sides. More to the point, each one is credible only because the previous one was delivered. No company hands a vendor the software it runs on until that vendor has already proven it understands the company’s data and its operations.

Foundation work across many companies is also how we learn which business functions are worth building as products, so the roadmap comes from operations we have seen rather than from a whiteboard.

03How we work

Governed data comes before agents

Agents go to work only on data that has been validated and can be trusted. Skipping that step is how AI projects produce a convincing demo that fails on contact with real operations.

Agents execute, people decide

Our systems carry work to the point of decision, and a named person approves what leaves them. There is one narrow exception, and we state it here: routine billing notices on autopay accounts, sent from templates approved in advance and triggered by your own contract terms.

Our back office is the first customer

Every function in the catalog runs our own operations before it reaches a client, so it arrives with the rough edges already found. Where your need is specific to your business, we build it for you and hold it to the same standard.

Claims come with evidence

Our controls are kept in a register where each one carries a command that demonstrates it. Security questionnaires are answered from a passing run of those checks, and anything that is planned rather than in place is described that way.

Newtack is a new firm. Client references and case studies will appear here as the work behind them is delivered, and not before.

04How we handle your data

Prospects ask this before they ask anything else, so here are the answers in the same words we use in a security questionnaire.

Regulated data
Protected health information and comparable regulated records are never sent to a cloud model. They are processed only by models running on hardware we control, inside your cloud account or ours. The restriction is enforced in the tooling rather than stated as a policy: a session under a protected path refuses to start, and the operating system withholds read access from any process that could upload.
Confidential business data
Ordinary client material is processed by commercial models from Anthropic and OpenAI on paid business accounts, under terms that give those vendors no right to use your information for their own purposes. We do not use consumer accounts or free tiers for client work.
Training
Your information is not used to train or fine-tune any model. Training is disabled at the account level on every vendor account used for client work, and our confidentiality agreement prohibits it independently of what any vendor setting does.
Retention
We return or destroy your confidential information on request or at the end of the engagement, with a narrow carve-out for routine backup cycles and legal holds.
Accountability
A named person is accountable for every outcome. No agent holds credentials to send, to pay, or to sign, which is enforced by how those credentials are scoped rather than by instructions given to a model.

05The name

To take a new tack is to change how the business runs, on purpose. That is the work: new ways of using technology to improve business performance and build business value. For clients as they adapt and optimize in a changing environment, for the products we build with them, and for our own operations, which is where a good deal of it gets proven.
